Hey all, just came across a couple boxes of reloads I did up a few years ago and the powder amount written on the box was 4.2grains. Seems a little high for this load. Anyone use this powder and load in this amount? Don't want to have to pull 400 bullets. And don't want to shoot it to find out yet either. Help!

I used to use 3.9 of 700x with 125 lead. 4.2 I used under a 180 lead for the 40 S&W.

Shot the 4.2 grain loads and they shot fine, hot but fine. Primer strike mark showed some bulging but primer wasn't flattened. 1150 fps. Dropped to 3.5 grains and primer strike looked tamer. 3.5 grains got 950 fps. Prob go with that. Still gonna shoot the rest of the 4.2, feel safer now. Cheers!
