Galil#1--on that can in the pic, i began the threads just in front of the 28 fins. As you'll know the action bar is only about 1/8" below the barrel. Having the threads forward of the fins ensured the can's circumference (where stock was chiseled out) was FORWARD of the action bar.

I like the idea of the Huxwrx but I decided to go with the Shaw Mk45 with no billboard and flat cap. Joe told me it meters at 130 db.

I have a Rhineland Arms SMLE .45acp conversion kit I intend to turn into a little shorty blaster, and want an effective can such as this,...so I'm paying attention.

Not looking to re-create a DeLisle carbine,...but sort of. I like the internal volume of the DeLisle, but dislike integral designs. If I could achieve the best of both worlds with a dismountable "fat bastard",...that's for me.

In October of 2025 I got in contact with Joseph Jones of Curtis Tactical. I love his MK9k as reported here. He now works for Shaw Armament. We passed a few emails and I asked to demo of MK45. He agreed. Shaw Armament is 50 miles from me so that was nice.

Joe got very busy designing the new Shaw cans at the beginning of 2026 so we never got to do the demo. Other people at Shaw told me they had the internal parts for one more MK45. They just needed to make, serialize and paint the tube. I went ahead and ordered/paid for a MK45 February 18. They let me slightly customize it with .578x28 DT HUB Mount, Flat Front Cap Black Cerakote, No Logo. Very cool.

My 629 ROF FRT AR45 needs a hearing safe dry muffler!

So.....I've been working on an ADJUSTABLE SD for the CMMG RDB setup in 9mm as mentioned on my site here: https://c3junkie.com/?page_id=3816
I have been very impressed how an SD chamber can make a small, LW can sound great.

That said, I am also working on a .45 CMMG RDB integral setup as well. Yes, I know 45ACP is already predominately subsonic but IMHO, porting has 3 advantages off the top of my head.
  1. Brings round down subsonic - (not applicable for 45)
  2. Brings the pressure down so the suppressor doesn't have to work as hard so you can get away with a smaller / lighter can
  3. Smoothes out the recoil impulse. Some of you may have seen that my early 9mm SD I did, I only used 6 ports to get to a state where the carrier doesn't bottom out in the buffer tube.
All that said, I'm after the bottom 2 goals for .45ACP.
In my picture above, I have all those cans setup for Alpha threads and many .45 cans also come with Alpha threads since they are used on pistols. I will be able to share some parts I'm using for 9mm for .45 but I will at minimum have to get at least 1 part different for .45 than 9mm with my design.

The De Lisle carbine is .45 and also uses a ported barrel. Early ones didn't but later ones did which is mentioned in this video:

My barrel guy just received some blanks that I'm going to get made for testing. I also just received a Griffin Rev 45 modular can which is only 6.56" long in the short config. Worst case I run it 8.81" in long config but hoping when combined with the SD module I can get good performance short.

My buddy "Rufus" is a machinist who took a Rhineland Arms .45acp conversion kit and set about building his own pseudo-DeLisle. With the cost of the conversion kit and the donor rifle, he has about $500 in it so far.

Also modified the stock to carry a spare mag.
