Today marks the three year anniversary of sending money and a .45 stick mag to barrelxchange for a .45 drum. Three years! What the fuck Troy? Please give us an honest answer on what's going to happen with this product.
Ouch! That will leave a mark.

So, Dave, you waiting on a Shrike too? Sorry, I couldn't help it.

I would still like to know how many rounds does the 45 acp drum hold and does it need a winder in order to operate?

The SEARCH feature is a wonderful thing...

Here's a thread you started asking about the drums a couple of years ago.

Dave, Troy offered to refund money at one point. Is that offer still good?

If anyone wants to blast me for trying to be innovative and develop new designs, go right ahead. If you don't like what I have produced, I will refund your money. If you are willing to work with me I will do my very best to correct any problems and if I can't fix it I will gladly refund you.

The drum was being offered with interchangeable mag towers and you supplied the magazine body. I don't recall one for the MAC-10 but there may well have been one. There was a tower in the works for the Reising SMG.

At this point it really doesn't matter... it's all vaporware. Buy a Frankenmag for a fraction of the price, have a few extra rounds, and be done with the aggravation.

This December marks the 4 year anniversary of my deposit on Craig Wheatly's, (Tactical Innovations), American 180 drum fed AM-15 upper. I paid at the 2005 SAR Show.

This December marks the two year anniversary of Tactical Innovations sending out notices of imminent delivery of said upper. You know what, I haven't called him once or asked for my refund... yet.

*Edited to add... Found this from 10-01-06.

I will have 10 drums available by the end of the month (or sooner) and will be starting another 20 right away.

Here's what these are: 50 round 45 drums that have the ability to change the feed towers to 4 different configurations, UZI, Grease Gun, Reising and M1A1 Thompson, (will do Ingram 6 in the future)

Price for the drums is $300.00 + 10.00 shipping and require you to trade in a mag for your tower choice. Example: If you want an UZI tower send me a 10 rd 45 mag, Grease gun tower send me a GG mag (blued preferred) Reising, send a 20rd mag (there are after market mags that are not as expensive as originals), ect, ect.

If you want additional towers they are $100.00 each and still require the trade in, (spare towers come with a new set of dummy rounds to fit the tower)

I do have mags available for towers in case you don't have one to trade but you will have to pay going rate for the mag + the drum or tower charge.

Terms are 50% deposit min and mag trade. but if you prepay I'll ship for free.

Guaranteed to run, or money back

I accept checks, M.O. CC. or paypal (add 3%)

Email me directly at: barrelxchange@aol.com to order.

Pics coming soon

Thanks

Troy

Instead of trying to defend myself or explain my situation (the jury has already made the decision). I will simply refund the money and magazine.

I've made a lot of innovative products and plenty of things that never existed before, but with people ripping off my ideas, it just isn't worth trying anymore.

I will finish the run of drums I am making for other guns and it looks like that will be it. I tried.

Thank you all for your patronage over the years.

Troy

I think most will agree that your products have filled nitches that were not being served otherwise and they have been appreciated. Where have people ripped off the ideas? I guess I just haven't seen that but maybe I missed it.

Hey RD:

Cut Troy some slack. I'm wondering what is going on with him. I bought one of these also. Has it been 3 years? Mine doesn't work so I tweaked on it and broke one of the cartridge hooks inside the drum so I put it in a box and forgot about it. Well RD makes this post and gets me to thinking so it's out to the shop. Well, I think I got it working it feeds by hand, I'll need to shoot it. I removed some metal from the inside of the drum in the area where Vector puts Teflon in their drums. I increased the spring pressure as much as possible. Not to mention new hooks which screw in and are thicker and a new rotor from a donor drum. I'm going to get this thing working. Troy has offered money back on these for a while he is a stand up guy.

Troy:

Who stole an idea from you? I've had that happen to me. About 20 years ago I made up a Colt Peacemaker .22. I took a back strap from a Colt lightning and put it on the gun. It's really a neat little gun. I don't do grips and I had a set of cheap pearlites on it. At the time Cimmaron Arms was located in Houston and they had an excellent grip maker Al Jenson working for them. I took the little gun in for a set of stags and when I showed it to Charles The owner of Cimmaron he was kind of rude and just turned up his nose. Well 6 months later Cimmaron introduced the same gun built on a full size single action. Oh well what do they say about imitation and flattery?

Sorry guys, but 3 years doesn't deserve slack! If you make a promise to deliver something and take money and give nothing in return what does that make you? So what if someone is stealing your designs, what does that have to do with a product that you have made and sold in advance? I don't get it. How does it stop you from delivering a product?

That's what I was wondering. That would be unfortunate if it happened because the market isn't that big. I just can't think of anything that was ripped off from him.

Some had bugs? Does anyone have a working UZI .45 dum? I don't remember anyone saying they had one working.

I'm trying to figure out when the "yet" will happen. It's been "next month" for three years now.

Well:

I thought I was getting mine close to working but........... I don't think it will ever work. If Troy wont take it back I may try to find one of the cheap Korean Thompson drums and put it on the tower.
