22lr Conversion Kit

thinking about ordering a cmmg kit. does anyone know the part # for the anti bounce weight and the trip for the auto sear. apparently these parts need to be purchased separately and the contact format is not really set up to answer this question.
also the kits offered vary slightly in the picts at various companies. is there any reason to prefer one over another? thanks.

The photos in the links you posted are of different vintages of conversions. Wherever you buy from will likely sell you whatever is in stock.

2a, thanks for the input. i saw a video on TBF that got me thinking i might try one of these kits. they made it look like it was plug and play. that has never been my experience with 22 kits but what the hell, i thought i might give it a try. have you had any luck with these?

Strongly recommend a dedicated upper with CMMG's detent collar and barrel rather than the chamber insert set.

Good advice there. Also, get their 4.5" BBL for sub sonic with bulk pack ammo.

scott, i agree, that's the way to go, i just wish i'd pulled the trigger on them a couple of years ago when they were a lot cheaper. cmmg lists them from $700 to $800 now. that's what makes the conversion kits so attractive at $170.

I've had an Atchisson MkII/III pattern .22 conversion made by CMMG since April, 2010. I've used it in full auto 5.56 uppers with barrels ranging in length from 10.5 in. to 20 in. In 2015 the firing pin broke and was replaced for free by CMMG. By mid-2017 the frame had become so warped that it too was replaced for free by CMMG. I also acquired 4.5 in. and 9 in. CMMG dedicated .22 barrel/bolt recoil assemblies for uppers in 2018. I've shot full auto with both, but as of the last few years, the 9 in. dedicated upper on my M16 lower is what I generally use for all full auto, .22LR shooting even though I also have a full auto Uzi and a .22 conversion for it.

For full auto use anti-bounce weight (ABW), I have switched from the CMMG ABW to first the Atchisson/Ciener ABW; and now make my own ABWs that mimic the Atchisson/Ciener ABW as the relevant patent expired years ago.

For the record, the collar and barrel at the bottom of the page in the above link are the collar ($65) and matching barrel ($125) that solved my FA reliability issues. The collar replaces the barrel insert piece on the CMMG bolt assembly. You'll still need to source the CMMG bolt assembly / kit. I probably wasted $300-$400 worth of .22LR ammo trying to get the other kits to run. After I called CMMG and chatted with them, they recommended the then newly available collar / barrel with the ball detent and after I swapped out those parts my issues disappeared.

Might be cheaper to put together your own with a cheap Aero or similar stripped upper.
