I've been shooting that stuff out of my m11/9 for years. It's called 7.62 x 25.

I thought the Tok was too long for the 9MM mag? I had Tokarev years ago. It was a nice shooting gun, but I thought the bullets were longer. Been a long time I could be thinking of another caliber.

This round should work with 9mm mags as long as you use the 22 TCM9R bullets. Armscor is currently making these bullets. Until they start rolling off the line, they have been using a modified (shorter) version of the regular 22 40 grain bullets.

Some people on the 1911 forums are currently loading Hornaday .224 V-Max bullets for use wit Uzi mags. It's not the same round but very similar. I've been watching the progress.

It requires a sten magwell conversion and a little work on the sten mags themselves. Do a forum search and your find all the details. http://www.uzitalk.com/forums/showthread.php?56015-7.62x25

Thanks yeah, I found that out after I searched it out. I bought a STEN magwell from Craig Whitley when he first started making them but when they started selling converted Madison mags for the M11/9 I bought a bunch of them and decided not to convert to STEN mags. I'm glad I didn't. Z-mags I think killed any second thoughts I ever had.

Let's be honest here. No one has made a full auto blow back 22 TCM. There has been a DI FA 22TCM, a FA piston 22 TCM and a FA locked breach blow back.

I think it can be done but we need to work it out. Life is an adventure.

I loaded 5 rounds of armscor 22 TCM in a stem mag .. There is room .... My concern is : not enough recoil to stroke the bolt And strip the round from mag ! I have a M10 so I know it want work on it !! I have 22 tcm pistol the slide restriction ( spring) is very lite

I don't have an interest in purchasing a barrel, but wanted to drop this here for those that are thinking about it: http://762x25tokarev.proboards.com/thread/113/carbine-22-tcm-reed-express

Tim, HMC710 on that forum and owner/operator of Heavy Metal Machine that makes DI 7.62x25 Tok AR uppers, has made an Uzi barrel for 22TCM and been playing with reloads for it going on 2+ years now. There's a bunch of 22 Reed Express info in there as well so it isn't the easiest read, but they may have worked out some kinks already.

Haven't kept up on that thread for over a year, but I was looking into it for an AR upper back then until other projects took my time.

so, able to make for M10/9? if so I'm in
I'm waiting for Sam, the guy making the barrels to read the thread and put in his two cents. I don't know if he will vary on the specs or not and frankly I don't own an M10 so I don't even know the specs.

Usually, if a guy has an idea in the gun world, it's his baby. He does the research and protos and no one steals his idea until he cries uncle. Usually. I have not done any research on the 22 TCM round except for the barrels and the chamber reamers necessary to make the round go down the tube or from this thread. It's not my baby. This is another person's work but I said I could make the barrels. ALL of the barrels will be the same. The price I gave was for a standard length barrel. I am not going to write 15 different programs for different length barrels and different threads. If someone wants a longer length make sure that in the final drawing of the barrel they have the room to cut and thread the barrel for their idea. I am already backed up with my own ideas for MAC and UZI parts/accessories and did anyone ever hear about our updated 22 kit? That needs to be finished, as well. We like having many ideas on the drawing board and we fill in work around our repairs/modifications by making parts/accessories or tools to make parts/accessories. We do as much as we can every day but I can't add the research for running a MAC bolt and which spring works with which upper configuration, different spring rates, etc to my list right now. That will be for some one else. Send me the specs for the barrel and I will put it on the list of parts to be made. While this kind of tinkering is not for everyone I think it is a cool idea and can be made to work but just like Coffee said in his 380 project there is compromise whenever you are designing one thing to be another.

Well, that answers that. The barrel specs will be the same. 4.5 inches SilencerCo specs. 1/2 x 28 muzzle thread on the end and M11/9 trunnion thread. If you still want one PM me so I can get an accurate count. When we decide to put in the order with the volume we have I'll let you know and you can contact Sam for shipping and payment information.

Reading Sam's response it sounds like if you want a different spec, you will have to supply the specs and negotiate the extra charges separately when he is making the barrels.

so if I read this correctly, (which I probably didn't), a new barrel, a new magwell, and new mags are needed to make a mac 10/9 shoot this 22tcm?

TIA

I'm thinking new barrel and tweaking the recoil spring. The round has been redesigned to work in most 9MM mags. Just from what i've learned so far. This is uncharted territory for all of us.
