Thanks Strobro.
Any idea if the Ruger 10/22 extractor spring and plunger listed at that link are also used in the Kage kit?

Anyone try a Voltsquarten or Power Custom extractor? Or if they blow out it doesn't make a difference. Thanks

I have a Voltsquartzen (sp?) extractor in mine. I was having tons of problems with my M11/22 kit that I swapped it out to see if it would make a difference (I already had one on hand). As it turns out, my problems were mag related, so I don't know if the improved extractor will really make a difference.

I ran a few Ruger extractors for 35K rounds and the V's for about 10K rounds. I never noticed a difference. I've had OOBs with both and lost both.

The only need for extractors is when you have a dud. They allow you to pull out the case easily.

The V's cost more so it hurts the wallet more when you loose them. :)

Thanks for the replies. Not having problems, just looking for spares. Going to order some Ruger extractors, as I bring out the MarkII, 10/22 and Max11/22 at the same time. Stocking up on Remington RGB.:gym

Yeah, the 22 kits usually run just find without an extractor.

I keep 2 extractors, springs, and plungers as spares. FWIW, I have not blown an extractor in a long time, even running RGB.

Anyone use extra power springs on their extractors? I could be wrong, but it looks like the spring in the M11/22 kit is actually longer than the ruger 10/22 extractor spring. I ask because I've had a few failures to extract, to the point that I need a tool like a small screwdriver to remove the empty brass from the chamber. And that's even immediately after cleaning the chamber thoroughly with bore scrubber.

How about regular M11 parts? I know there are the usual US MG, FTF, etc. but $20 for a recoil spring or a firing pin? I know that they need to make money but those are 50 cent parts.

Lage Mfg makes a few parts (sear, extrator, etc.) and his are better AND cheaper but what about the springs and other little bits?

If you can tool up and produce them for $0.50/ea, I'll buy a truck load. :)
