Milwaukee, Makita, Dewalt, etc. make carrying cases that might work, depending on setting. They’d checkout regarding handling characteristics (i.e. you’d expect them to hold something heavy).

How did using steel-cased ammo cause the cracks? Is that a known issue? I’m struggling to envision why that would happen.

See how much vertical play you have with the mag inserted. You should only have about 1/32” of play.

The Lage dual-catch required file fitting for me, which keeps the mags nice and high. There is a lot of variation in the mags, catches, and grips of MAC-style guns.

I’ve got about 6 Lage uppers (not to mention some other Practical Solutions uppers or the Versas I’m on the list for), and I can’t figure out a good way to store the ones that aren’t on the guns at the time. I don’t have room in the safe to stand them up. Has anyone found a nice solution...

I’m genuinely happy you have the knowledge base that you do. Since the transferable MG world is frozen in time, it’s losing that knowledge about old designs slowly by the day. I hope to pass my guns down to my kids someday, but by then a lot of what is known will probably just be discussing same...
