Heavy Barreled Galil AR 5.56 by Tenngalil

I've loved the Galil since the 1980's. I recall seeing one on the wall at a gun store and thinking "that's it". The rifle is surprisingly accurate in it's stock form, especially for a weapon based on an AK design. It would be great to see some groups out of this thing. V.

First Galil in 5.56 - very imperssed!

I've tested the 5.56 Galil fairly extensively, mostly at 200yds. It's very accurate for what it is. The 7.62 version didn't do very well though I've met other people who said it worked great for them. Go figure. V.

    Stretching out a Golani

I've done a lot of testing for accuracy and distance with the Galil. My range goes from 100 to 500 yds, with a 6' gong at 1000. All my rifles are IMI but I would think the results would be similar for the Golani. My shooting for the Galil is all done with iron sights. I did a test at 200yds...

ATT PREBAN GALIL GURUS : Question on my 372

I've been a fan of the Galil since the mid 1980's. The first one I bought was an Action Arms AR with an ARM gas block. I've also bought a NIB transitional ARM that came with a black plastic forearm and an AR rear hanger, which means there was no place to securely hold the bipod and no carrying...

    Beware of this GB seller

It's ironic that the sellers who use words like "rare" are usually crooks. I think something of true value sells itself. I've also had the experience of GunBroker removing negative feedback from dishonest sellers. I had great experience with GunBroker for a while but things have gone bad in the...

Just got me a Magnum Research .308 Galil

It's not unusual to find an AR with an ARM front gas block. I have a .223 AR, purchased NIB in the 1980's, with this configuration. You'll find original, unaltered Galils with all kinds of strange combination of parts. Barrel length, gas blocks and handguards/retainers are not a means to define...

Springfield Galil Model 392 - barrel twist rate

You never really know what you're going to get with an Israeli made Galil. The 8 that I have owned all had an assortment of oddball features. Many things that people say are unlikely could very well be true and original. Personally, I would have guessed 1-7. V.

Chinese Norinco superior to Galil due to receiver thickness?

There are a lot more variables and considerations at work than just weapon quality and value. The Galil has a distinct profile that may not suit the needs of various covert or semi covert units. V.

Question for the seasoned ak guys

I like to buy examples of these rifles in excellent condition and am generally willing to pay a little more for them. From that perspective, I would say that this thing is $400.00 more expensive than it should be. V.

Any word on CNC Warrior producing receivers?

I wonder how many they would have to sell in order to justify the development costs? Maybe 100, 200, 300???? V.

    FFV890C on the range...

I thought that was some strange furniture on that rifle. It's great when a rare example gets into private hands. If your barrel is 1-12", then try out a handload with a 52gr. bullet. I don't know how it would work in a 13" barrel but I've had outstanding results in the longer barrels on the...

    Shooting PMC X-tac

I actually put more effort into making sure my ammo is good than I put into making sure the firearms themselves are up to speed. If you have problems of any kind, always default back to the standard setup. In this case, drop the Magpul mags and the mag adapter and go with a good, IMI magazine...

    What is my Galil worth?

Yep, that's it...... and I would agree; upwards of $3,000.00. V.

    What is my Galil worth?

I've only seen one .308 Magnum Research ARM for sale in the last two years - it's a very specific type of Galil rifle. Granted, the market is soft right now but true collector items are still moving. I've also read that some Magnum Research Galils are California compliant since they don't have...

    What is my Galil worth?

The MR prefix is a good indication that it's a Magnum Research gun. Most of the Magnum Research .308 ARMs I've seen didn't have a rubber pad on the folding buttstock. It's a pity; a member by the name of Darkest2000 had some incredible photos of a pair of early MR ARMs in the Official Galil...

    FNC Para Failure to Feed

My FNC likes any mag with an anti-tilt follower installed, including the green GI followers. Also make sure that your mag spring in not installed backwards. There is a right way to install them. V.

    Still FTE... AGAIN

FTE issues in the Galil can have a number of sources. Your extractor and extractor spring can be bad, your chamber can be out of spec..... or the gas system timing can be off. There could also be drag on the moving parts at some point, which could be caused by a faulty magazine. Most of these...
