    Non-Slip Butt Cover for Sterling?

LOL - no (well, just a little overweight, and I'm the wrong side of 50). I am using a closed-bolt semi SBR in an action shooting match next week. The plain steel buttplate slips a bit on my shoulder, especially when shooting prone. I am just looking to stabilize the gun a bit and save time by...

Anybody remember when Wiselite built a few semi Stens?

Try handloads with Federal match primers. They are known for being very sensitive, and are popular with revolver shooters for this reason.

    Non-Slip Butt Cover for Sterling?

I have a Sterling SBR that shoots great but the bare metal buttplate slips around quite a bit on my shoulder as I shoot. Does anyone have any suggestions for reducing this slippage?

Uzi 9mm 40 Round IMI Magazine

I have some - just posted an ad in the classifieds: LINK TO AD. I can be flexible on the price for a multiple unit order. (Mods - please delete my comment if not allowed)

Shockwave Technologies Z-mag (beta) review thread

After relieving my Lage magwell, my ZMAG 30 feeds 100% in my MAX11. Fit is drop free. I have already placed an order for more.

Shockwave Technologies Z-mag (beta) review thread

I had the exact same problem with PAM2 mags back in the day, and posted about it in my article (http://http://www.uzitalk.com/reference/pages/M11magconversion.htm). I would suggest this be the second thing the folks with tight magwells check (right after clearancing the Lage magwell).

Shockwave Technologies Z-mag (beta) review thread

I would not panic yet. So long as the mags are consistent and feed 100%, then even adjusting the mag catch to fit and a bit of sanding on the mag body is not a big deal to me. The PAM2 mags were way worse because their dimensions were all over the place.

Shockwave Technologies Z-mag (beta) review thread

I got mine last week. Didn't have time to test fire yet, but it does sit a tad high (some bolt rub) and mag catch is very hard to release. The catch is aftermarket so I want to dig out my OEM catch before making a final judgment.

MIG weld a rail to the top of a SWD M-11 upper?

I concur with the post above. I also welded (TIG) a steel block on the top-rear of my M11/9 upper, then tapped it and screwed on an aluminum rail:

    Bullet RPM meter

You can buy one of the shot timers with an RPM mode. They work with various degrees of reliability and accuracy, but I would not trust them for higher ROFs. The problem with many shot timers is that they are not so good at resolving very short time intervals. For many subguns, shot timers cannot...

    9mm Bullet length

Feeding efficiency is impacted by COAL and ogive profile... bullet length and weight have no impact (within reason). I load Precision Delta 9mm 115gr RN-FMJ to 1.16" cartridge overall length.

    vest/rig for subgun matches?

I still use the same belt rig I posted in that thread. It still works just as well for me. Cheap, secure and fast... what's not to like ?

    MAX-11 bulging brass?

I use a STANDARD Lee sizing die in the first station of my Dillon XL650. It works great and costs way less than the EGW U-die (which I found shaved brass) or the other more elaborate tools out there. I do lube the cases to make loading smoother, then tumble the loaded rounds for a few minutes to...

    Max-11/22-Jamming

Try a brick of every brand of ammo you can find - raid the shelves at WalMart. Hotter ammo typically runs better. I had good luck with Winchester 333/555, but it does seem to lead up my bore faster than other brands. In the end I settled on American Eagle - a bit more expensive, but it runs well...

For you builders of mac stuff - what welder do you use?

TIG is the best choice for gunsmithing tasks. I bought a cheap Harbor Freight DC TIG unit for $200 several years ago (plus I spent about the same again on an argon bottle, mask, gloves etc.), then I got a book on welding from the library and taught myself to weld using scrap steel. My welds look...

    58 round Recon Mags

I believe they were originally designed as 32-round mags. Mine all hold 31 or 32 rounds. Just keep stuffing until you can't stuff any more. A mag loader is required. Your gun may or may not feed reliably from a fully-loaded magazine... roll the dice.

    M11/9: sell? Advice requested

If I were you, and I just wanted a good shooting subgun, I'd sell the Zytel and Madsen magazines for whatever you can get and then buy a few Recon Ord/USMG magazines. If the MAX-11 runs OK for you, why spend the extra $$$ for the Uzi ? Of course, if your heart is really set on the Uzi, then...

Heavier springs for Lage Max-11/22 BDM mags

The springs are "weak" for a reason - Black Dog know what they are doing. A stronger spring may lift the rounds up more forcefully, but also create more drag when stripping the rounds... likely you would find the rate of misfires increases with spring strength.

    Lage .22 kit problems

    1) Try more brands of ammo - each kit is a law unto itself. Mine likes American Eagle. 2) Check your mag is not too low - it should be snug up against the bolt assembly. 3) Make sure nothing is binding in your upper. 4) Don't do any more "polishing" - if it is not working, call Richard first...

    cleaning.

I stick a couple of shotgun patches on a shotgun cleaning rod, soak the patches with CLP, and run them through the upper a few times. This gets most of the loose crud out and lubes the inside of the receiver. It does not have to be spotless.
