    WiseLite Sterling SBR Conversion

I apologize for derailing the conversation, but I was just thinking about Don Quinell the other day. Does he still do STENLING conversions? The Andrewski's started it and Don followed suite. I don't think anyone does that work anymore as it is very arduous and you need a number of Sterling kits...

Does Lage get $ from King Arms?

A chip off the old block! It looks like it was manufactured in Taiwan or China which means litigation is going to be complicated and costly.

    What happened to Geco ammo?

No. You are correct. It was originally loaded in Switzerland & Germany as you see on the old blue and black boxes. Later on it was outsourced to the Matra Metalworks in Sirok, Hungary. It later appeared in red and black boxes, now it is in all white boxes. The box redesign seems to have...

    What happened to Geco ammo?

GECO is still around. They are RUAG's budget line before NORMA ( formerly RUAG, Now Beretta I believe) began focusing on pistol ammo. It is fantastic ammo, very accurate and the material and tolerances are great. Most GECO pistol ammo is made in either Hungary or Furth, Germany. When you find it...

FTF with MK in Full Auto

This is often a symptom of a weak magazine spring. As the spring decompresses, the positive pressure against the feed lips reduces and sloppy feeding and malfunctions become an issue. The standard length of a healthy STEN mag spring is 12.5 inches; you can use a ruler or measuring tape to check...

    Go-to subsonic 9mm ammo?

147 gr. Xtreme RN 3.3 gr. Vihtavuori N-320 Chronographed from my STENS they average 920 FPS. Very quiet. They also run great in my Lage Max 10/31k. They will run without a suppressor as well.

Thoughts on standardizing on nickel plated brass for my 9mm reloads

Ni plated brass is great and certainly easier clean due to it's smoothness and " self lubricating" like properties. The case itself is thinner to accommodate the plating, so longevity tends to decrease. Additionally, they tend to be more brittle as you mentioned. The biggest nuisance is the...

    Lighter Sten mag spring?

You can use a Modded Uplula for Grease gun Mags or STEN Mags. I still think the best STEN mag loader is is AUSTEN Loader. It's a world of difference over the issued spoon loaders. If you can find an original( usually $150), I've heard these work. https://www.gunbroker.com/item/1060007308

    Lighter Sten mag spring?

STEN magazine springs should be 12.5 inches or longer; below that you will begin to encounter malfunctions. I bought a bunch of newly manufactured springs from BRP a few years ago. I believe they were about $5 each and were about 13-15 inches in length. they've worked great thus far. I wish I...

    Buffer material?

Application can vary, but 60-75A Shore is pretty good. You can go a bit harder if you like. If the urethane is too soft it will imprint or destroy the material more rapidly.

    Van Voorhees 22 conversion questions

I would love to hear or read an interview with him. Medea Corp made a number of M3A1 Grease guns, some 1919's and AR-15 conversions prior to the 1986 cutoff. Many of the companies or individuals who contributed to the machine gun registry have dissolved, or passed away. The history of these...

M2 Carbine. Registered receiver, registered trigger bar, or trigger group?

Registered trigger groups are the most robust. They do not bear much mechanical stress, and are dimensionally simple enough to repair. They can also be swapped into different hosts. Registered receivers can crack or stretch, but it typically takes a higher round count before that can happen...

How many rounds to burn out a M11/9 barrel

Per the ar15.com post: "The barrels from Green Mountain have been 100% and zero issues with them. They run and run and even though they still look and spec good after 8-10 months, I have the staff swap out for new ones just for liability reasons." You're more likely to need to reweld your...

    Punt guns

Historically they were black powder which makes them exempt from the NFA. Hence why you can build black powder muzzle loading cannons without them having any real classification. If it loads from the breech it becomes a DD.

RIA June21-23, 2024 NFA prices realized

For that price I would have bought it. Parts are not common and the .32 French Long cartridge is no longer manufactured. It is possible to convert these to .380 ACP, even if it does seem sacrilegious. That MP-40 looks like it as lost in the mud of the Eastern Front for the past 80 years.

They technically interchange, but the the later series Mini-14 recoil springs are about an inch longer. Wolff also made increased tension springs, perhaps they still do.

    Gun safe locked up.

This trick works on low end safes and electronic gates with a simple solenoid, however most decent safes have a clutch of some sort that must disengage before the shank of the solenoid will move. I believe Bischoff makes Tl-30 jewelry safes that are bit more sophisticated. It's worth a shot...
