SBR Markings for HK94 & SP89? NFA says NO!

Yeah, exactly. However the law itself is quite clear and the letter is (IMO) another error on the ATF's part so I would not plan on this decision sticking too long. See an earlier post for ATF reversals of opinion :)

SBR Markings for HK94 & SP89? NFA says NO!

I think the confusion comes from the fact that a NFA weapon and a title 1 weapon are two different entities. An NFA firearm is "manufactured" by the person/company who assembled it (pending form4). Matters not whether you used a title 1 firearm (or rcvr) or a self made rcvr. The NFA registry is...

    Barrel Rifling Question

Sounds like a ringed barrel. run your fingers down the outside of th barrel and see if it is bulged at those locations. If so it is toast.

Obviously that is what I meant. Thanks for the catch - post edited.

    Type 03 FFL, C&R audits...

Not to keep picking on you :) But this is a good lesson to others that have been in the same "nothing to hide" mindset. Loose it quick. Become better read on the laws and don't unnecessarily incriminate yourself because you "have nothing to hide" again. This concept also applies to your...

    Parkerizing questions

I don't think boiling water would be a good idea. Due to the amount of time needed to complete the park process you would run the risk of corrosion in the bore. If the bore is chrome lined, don't bother plugging (except during blasting) A regular steel bore is easily plugged with wooden...

    Type 03 FFL, C&R audits...

You should have read up on the regs before hand. Had you done this you would have been able to better deal with the situation. Good points already made above. To recap: 1) Agent was an idiot that not only didn't understand what he was sent there to do but did things NOT authorized. Sounds...

    My idea

Provided your a SOT or gov/LE agency (and only if) you can contract a SOT NFA weapons manufacturer. best manufacturer would depend on what type of design you have.

    Magazine Ban Politics

I wouldn't doubt this. Now I know it varies from area to area. But take my locale for an example. I can confidently say that MOST of my fellow local dealers are ANTI "assault weapon", Democrap, typical local loosers. I know of several shops that juist give you an evil look if you mention...

    Question on NFA purchase??

Re: Nfa fees. "Delivered" means... "Delivered". AKA, Shipped. Not trying to flame you - just a heads up that your interpretation of "delivered" is not the same as everyone I have dealt with thus far (customer and vendor) As a small volume shipper I use...

    Powder Coat

As Tony, my favorite is resin finishes. Currently I offer GunKote. It is the best *metal* finish I have ever used. Thin (can be applied to internals), self lubricating, durable, impervious to solvents and looks great. Oh, it also aids dissipation of heat. Properly applied it will never...

    Crossing State Lines W/Guns

To add to what Puck said. You must have the firearms out of immediate reach and UNLOADED. Ammo in seperate containers - etc. IOW: You can't "carry", unless in a reciprocal or legal state.

    finish removing solvents?

Depends on the finish, it's base and curing. Paint stripper will remove even heatcured resins. Over the counter chemicals prob won't get it as clean as you are apparently looking for though. Best bet is to abrasive or bead blast.

    Little Help Please

Yep, probably ammo. Especially after your confirmation about the 115gr "cheap stuff" being the common problem.
