    Buffer material?

UHMW has a dur of 64-67. It's available in sheets of different thicknesses; cut, fit, install. Simpler than trying to formulate your own.

    Uzi Pistol Case on eBay

Already gone. Sure beats the 200 bucks plus I spent for mine.

Mini and or Micro Uzi Bolts

Welcome to the forum. Lots of good information here. From your pictures; they all appear to be SA closed bolt bolts. No "feet" on the front usually is indicative of SA. Also, the unequal height difference on the sides is to make room for the leg on a striker assy. With striker installed, the...

    Uzi pistol age by SN?

Probably. Contacting Action Arms might be a place to start. http://actionarmsonline.com/contact/ The pistols were made from 1984 'til 1993. Finding out roughly how many were made per year could pin it down too.

Welcome. Lots of knowledge and experience among the members. If you don't already have a copy, Rover Dave's book is a good addition to your library; full of details and illustrations.

    written disassembly instructions?

Welcome to the world of Uzis. You might also look into a manual for your library. The owner's manuals don't cover much more than operation and cleaning but the military manuals, or "armor's manuals" cover teardown, repairs, re-assembly, and parts inspection (what's servicable and what should...

    45 acp bolt

Check with this guy. https://www.gunbroker.com/item/1055609145 I'm pretty sure he has kits as well as individual parts.

    Gun safe locked up.

Glad to hear you were successful Rob. My biggest stumbling block was getting a locksmith to the safe so I was left to do everything myself. Unlike all the straight mechanical machinery I've run over the years-- with electronic anything, they either work or they don't. To my rudimentary way of...

    Legality question

As long as it's permanently welded in the folded position and can no longer function as a stock, it's only a "cosmetic feature". I've done several MACs that way and all have passed scrutiny. I'd be more concerned about satisfying a local LEO's curosity/interest. You're more likely to run across...

    More Uzi Pros

I think there may be more to putting a stock on an Uzi pistol than just drilling and tapping holes. Because the pistols and micros use thinner sheet metal I believe they also added a reenforcing plate or strap. Dave's book may have something on that.

    Gun safe locked up.

The safe door is back fom the locksmith and I even managed to get it reinstalled myself, without ending up wearing it. Tucked away in the closet as the safe is; it was like trying to get a boat anchor out of and back into a well. Sorry slim, I have yet to get a definite cause as to the keypad...

    More Uzi Pros

To us earliy version fans, the Uzi Pro is a Uzi Pistol wannabe. "New and Improved" usually isn't either. Side cocking handle is the most obvious change.

    More Uzi Pros

For those of you that missed out on getting an Uzi Pro, more are on the way. In a video of the 2024 NRA Show, IWI announced that they are bringing the Pros back into production. No idea as to price or release date. So now you know.

    Gun safe locked up.

Anything mechanical will wear eventually and get sloppy/slightly out of its original settings. On some things, +/- .0015" doesn't mean .005" either way is close enough. Problems come in when you don't know or can't see what needs to be repaired. slim, I'm still not sure of the exact cause...

    Gun safe locked up.

SUCCESS !!! I'm in ! Just to be clear; I've known and dealt with this locksmith for years so it's not like anybody can just walk in to a locksmith shop with a convincing story and get safecracking tips and instructions. Even so, I took a selfie of me and the dogs sitting in front of the safe...

    Gun safe locked up.

Right now a big knife switch on the face of the door would be most welcome. I hear no whirring of motor or gear train so I'm thinking solenoid.

    Gun safe locked up.

I agree. Or the internal board might be acting as some kind of relay like a headlight relay in a car; delivering more amperage to operate the solenoid than the keypad was capable of handling. Remember Slim, you're talking to a guy who stopped understanding electronics when they did away with...

    Gun safe locked up.

Not sure cajun, all I can do is ask my locksmith. The plug-in connector is sandwiched between the inner face of the circuit board and the inside of the diecast keypad housing. Might be tricky to get disconnected. Then there's the question of does the keypad send a command to the circuit board...

    Gun safe locked up.

Very true. "New" and "Improved" usually isn't either. Ive been a machinist for 50+ years now and am still "chasing the dial". CNC is impressive... until the power goes out. Then that soft rasping sound you hear over in the corner is me with a file, still making parts. Slim, I'll run the...

    Gun safe locked up.

Good points root but I'm gonna keep on my present course for now. Still thinking of salvaging the door for conversion to a dial lock. I do know one sure-fire way of getting the safe open-- Have news crews show up and that safe would be opened and the contents spread out on a tarp for filming in...
