Yes it is. I ended up being side tracked on a AK PDW in 7.62x39, but I'll start working on a sub caliber model now. I'm already gathering parts.

Took the AK PDW out for another round of testing after finishing the welding on it today. The rounds eject about 10 feet when fired. It's not broke in yet, but I'll dump a few hundred rounds through it this weekend before media blast and paint...

Yes it is freaking cold. The older I get, the more I hate it. Barrel is 5.686 inches long. I don't think I could go shorter and still use a standard recoil assembly.

I was worried about the barrel measurements I came up with, but it all fit together perfect. I just have to do a little welding and it's ready to test fire. Then broke down blasted and painted.

I went to see my buddy Aaron at VT tactical supply this afternoon. I dug through all his AK grips to see what might work best on this build. I went with the MAGPUL MOE AK grip. The color and texture of the MAGPUL MOE grip is a perfect match to the HK SP98/MP5K forearm.

Okay, I have all my parts now and mocked up the Micro Galil gas piston. I never cut down a gas system and used a piston like this. Does the piston look to be at the correct depth in the gas block? Also, does anyone have a idea of what gas port size I should start with for a 5.86 inch 7.62x39...

I did some more work on the AK PW yesterday. I took a AMD65 rifle and installed the Galil selector to be able to bend my stock to the correct angles. (Not sure if I'm going to use it yet or not?) I also riveted the trigger guard and front trunnion.

My custom serial numbered receiver arrived from Childers Guns.
