Any clues as to what this may have been for....?

Well, whatever it may be for will remain a mystery to me. Someone may know as there's a bid on it. I suspected just what you've stated Lima and asked if he thought as much and to my surprise he had a Mk7 dewat and sent these...

Any clues as to what this may have been for....?

And here I was...thinking of forwarding this to Peter L. and now just read of the case against him. So much for that source of knowledge being tapped.

    Former-armourer-72-jailed-three-years

How sad. I'm with sniperdoc on this. No excuses for theft. One has to wonder what David H. would have made of this. What a drag.

Any clues as to what this may have been for....?

The crinkle finish suggests commercial market for Sterling. Certainly the brass plate suggests Sterling...but...perhaps the automobile ? No way a Mk5 gun is going to fit in here, even pulled all the way down. Link ...

A fair grouping of Sterling mags +

I know this should be in the parts for sale section, however - I thought I'd throw it up here on account the Sterling mags in it. Not sure if the auction bottom line is over the top or whatever....but, if it's all worth it, perhaps someone wealthier than I here can make some bucks while...

    Short sterling mags?

Actually designed for CQB work. Rarer yet are the 15x2 and 10x2 mags.

The PAF: Chile’s first indigenous submachine gun

Got lucky enough to score 4 of those 45rd mags ! They're exactly like the late stamped Sterling 34s.

Sterling Mk 8 - "the holy grail of Sterling machine guns"

Here's a pic of our Mk8 gun with the Mk5 in our Plano Field Locker The Mk8 is fitted with a BSA airgun scope that has a "krinkle" finish similar to that of the Sterling commercial guns. Other items are : A Sterling marked #5 bayonet in scabbard, a grey SAS sling, (below Mk5) a 10rd, 34rd &...

Sterling Mk 8 - "the holy grail of Sterling machine guns"

Perhaps some on here on the forum should get a list of those who would buy the book. IF there is enough interest, perhaps Clive Law of Collector Grade Publications would do another run. If that doesn't happen, then it is very likely the values will only climb ( one of my other hobbies is...
