R5 SAR OverHaul- The new Look

That is probably the most correct R5 I have seen. Especially with the chocolate brown paint, I like it. Great addition adipose!

    GALIL HELP

The flash hider has right hand threads so make sure your turning it off the right way. You want to turn it clockwise instead of counter clockwise like most common threads. If you have the standard Galil flash hider there are flats on it to fit a wrench on to. You mentioned that it has a birdcage...

    Valet port buffer on Galil?

Thanks for the TinmanIA! I recently picked up a kind of beat up top cover. It will be a terrific candidate for a port buffer. Now I can save some of my brass!

    Rail systems for the galil

+1 to what riderboy said. The FAB rail is going to be the gets quality rail out there. UTG makes one that is fairly cheap in price. I think those that use them have been pretty happy with them.

    Honduran Police Galil?

Hey there Lou! Sorry I've had some things come up this week and haven't been around. Anyway, great stuff as usual. I'll be talking to you soon.

    Galil Ace 21

Some closer detail pics of the handguard/mag well/receiver cover area would be terrific. Along with anything that is specific to the ACE. Looking forward to seeing it!

How many have built a semi from a kit?

Thanks for the pics joes, that's a great looking build. It looks like NDS has their receivers/bolts back in stock so I'm about ready to start picking up parts. I was at my local gun store today and a unique little pistol caught my eye. At first I thought it was a Mini but after checking it out I...

    Railed Gas Tube

Welcome Westcliffe01, I have been pondering the same thing. I am going to try an Ultimak Saiga shotgun gas tube rail. But I will give the one you referenced above a look too. You can't go wrong with the J-Point. I have one on my Glock 17 and it has been excellent.

    Tavor coming to the US!

That would be great! Being a bull pup fan anyway, it's about time someone brought the Tavor here. I'm surprised that a company similar to MSAR hasn't made a clone yet. The MSAR STG556 is a great little rifle, I don't see the Tavor being that much more difficult to produce. But there may be...

Has any used a suppressor on their Galil.

I just ordered an OPS M4-S suppressor for one of my ARs. I was thinking of using it on my Galil as well. These mount on the OPS INC muzzle break for the Mk12 series of ARs. They make an adapter that threads on to 1/2-28 threads that has the collar made in to it so you don't have to have your...

    Micro front sight???

+1 The Blackthorne gas block is going to give you even more problems with movement of the gas block itself. If you can find an IMI gas block it would be for the best. I'm going to pm you some info and see if I can't help you out on this. Thanks and welcome to the forum!

    golani charging knob flew off

Hey deerslayer, I forgot to mention that some may require a bit of fitting. If you look at the thread in the stickies on this Galil page, look at the thread about AK bolt carriers in Galils. Some have to fitted a little bit but not much. Here's a link, just read through and it will give you the...

still debating over Micro vs SAR

AHHH, sorry about that kmart wasn't paying attention and was half asleep. I see exactly what you mean about it being the bolt carrier. I don't know why I thought it looked like that was the gas tube to me. Thanks guys! BTW, here's a pic of that rifle Lou: It is a Bulgarian AR-M4SF and is one...

    golani charging knob flew off

Hey there deerslayer! Welcome to the forums! The charging handle flying off really sucks. If you bought it new send it back to Century to have them fix it. Or you can skip the whole Century hassle and have someone weld it back on correctly. You can use any AKM bolt carrier in your Golani. Now...

still debating over Micro vs SAR

Hey there grunt, sorry to keep asking questions about your rifle, but I keep seeing things that are interesting to me. In the pic you attached of your gas block, what's going on with your gas tube where it connects to the gas block? It looks like it was tapered in to fit the gas block. Great...

    R6 Build - Reuse barrel?

Hey there Ugh!, you can seat 75-77gr bullets down far enough to clear AR mags. If your planning on using them as close/mid range thumpers that should work OK. I use them in my Mk12 Mod1 build for long range shots, and for that they need to be seated out a bit. I've found they are most accurate...

still debating over Micro vs SAR

That is hilarious! I haven't seen those before. Nice find lcastillo! Sidewinder, I am a certified parts hoarder. I don't have that many different platforms but have enough parts to usually build two of each rifle over minus a receiver. Right now I run FALs, ARs, Galils and Bolt guns. I only run...

Thanks for the info grunt! I think I'm going to pick one up for my Golani. Mr Folgers, I have to agree with you to an extent. I keep my guns simple as possible. I don't care too much for side mounted rails because they are uncomfortable, and I have a hard time seeing around stuff that's mounted...

Do you smell "BATF Sting" on this one??

This put such a big smile on my face! Too bad so little have enough balls to stand up for what is right!
