I was so intrigued by this that I took the MFT Engage grip off my AK to see how it worked and it worked great. No filing or anything, even fit better than on my AK.

Funny thing about those. My (dun-dun-dun-duuuun) Golani wouldn't work without jamming with the metal Galil or polymer Tapco mags. I installed one of these, and it ran fine. Go figure. Anyway the installation took a few hours with a file and they tend to only like aluminum USGI mags.

From my experience, you will never get your money back out of the rifle if you decide to go with option b. But, the gun may not be worth putting extra money into. It sounds like a financial kick in the groin either way.

Both are great flash suppressors, but the AAC makes the rifle MUCH louder.

Well after further examination, I was able to push the extractor all the way to the left of the bolt with my thumb, as opposed to my AR which I couldn't budge with my hands. Looks like it needs a new spring. As far as the chamber, the brass expanding would explain why the rifle did much better...

Yeah those slots in the AK bolt carrier are apparently too narrow to fit in the reciever of the Galil/Golani. Thanks for the info. My dad has a Dremel tool I could borrow. I could buy one of those bits.

This is an awesome idea, I just ordered an AK bolt carrier from APEX and I was wondering if anyone could tell me the best way to widen the slots in the AK bolt so they'll slide in the Golani receiver.
