Homebrew Method for Sling-Only / No Stock High-RPM Shooting

Thank you for that, @Dirk Hawthorne! I appreciate the confirmation that all will be well and I likely won‘t f**k up my baby this way. Imma go try it out as soon as I can make the time!

Homebrew Method for Sling-Only / No Stock High-RPM Shooting

I was responding to the ring bolt idea, which isn’t the same as what you’re suggesting. Since there is no threaded hole unless unless you use the nut assembly that’s part of the folding stock design, I assume you mean why not use one of those. Fair question, if so! For me, playing around...

Homebrew Method for Sling-Only / No Stock High-RPM Shooting

Unless they are hinged to lay flat _inside_ the receiver, the same thickness/width issue and bolt-facing surface problem exist.

Homebrew Method for Sling-Only / No Stock High-RPM Shooting

Sure... of course... but this is an exercise in the art of the _possible_!!! :)

Homebrew Method for Sling-Only / No Stock High-RPM Shooting

I tried that, but It depends on how far into the receiver the attachment itself goes. Without increasing the net buffer thickness, you only have the width/thickness of the OEM buffer pad to work with. When I attached the Vickers SMG sling that way, even the plastic-sheathed cable loop was...

Homebrew Method for Sling-Only / No Stock High-RPM Shooting

This may have been covered elsewhere, but if so I can’t find the thread(s). I was curious about maximizing the compactness of my SMG UZI (IMI original, ex-PD, new transferable), and the related SAS sling-only SMG technique (https://blog.refactortactical.com/blog/sling-shooting-subguns/ &...

Stamped to machined feed ramp service

I am in this exact situation atm. New transferable ex-PD IMI SMG. Love it. Won’t feed FP/HP/TC/etc. worth a damn. Would you PM me the contact for this? I’d love to get a couple/few barrels opened up.

    Serial number question

If its a full auto SMG conversion, my bet would be that the serial number was updated by whoever did the conversion. mos

    Garmin Xero C1 Pro?

I have one. It won’t do RPM/ROF, but nonetheless DO NOT HESITATE. Get one IMMEDIATELY. Best range tool in my bag, period. SO freaking easy to use, and SO compact and light. My frame unit and my barrel strap-on unit are now both destined for my club’s next swap meet… or GB. mos

    Need Help Identifying a Barrel

Thank you very much, @amphibian! That makes good sense. I’m grateful for the reply to such a minor question, but I’m new to UZIs. Been shooting for 40+ years and collecting seriously for 20 (K98s, Garands, blah, blah), and now I’ve taken the plunge and have two UZI NFA investments in...

    Need Help Identifying a Barrel

https://uzitalk.com/forums/index.php?threads/barrel-markings-of-an-otherwise-unmarked-uzi.99517/#post-872440 This barrel has the same markings as mine, but it doesn’t look like it was authoritatively determined to be IMI. In fact, @amphibian commented that it appears to be similar to a South...

    Need Help Identifying a Barrel

I thought the main alphanumeric string stamped on the barrel could be an IMI part number, but I couldn’t find one that matched in the “ UZI book”. Also no “number in diamond” IMI stamp that I could find. Clearly it’s been proof-tested, though. Not sure which makers did that… mos

    Need Help Identifying a Barrel

Hi Andrew! Thanks much for the reply! In the sprit of learning, do you mind sharing why you think that's the case? Asking because I couldn't find any indication it might be IMI-made, and I was under the impression that they didn't make 10" barrels that were relieved to fit a SA, so I'm...

    Need Help Identifying a Barrel

This is a 10.2", trunion and restrictor ring-relieved barrel (fits into a SA). It does not appear to be chrome-lined. Can anyone help me identify its manufacturer based on the stampings? Click on the attached images for high-res views... there are a ton of stamps on this one. mos
