You have a good point. I personally would not want to test for the long run. Let us know if you do this and how it turns out after 1K rounds. It would have been less of a hassle for me if the rod was hollow and all I need to do was use a flare tool.

The Rod is not hollow and steel fuel line being hollow would not stand up to the bolt recoil on full auto for long. There is no way to use a flare tool so I had to get a bit creative, read previous postings. Factory must have had a special tooling to drill and flare just a bit. Just my...

Finally finished and tested in full auto. Works perfect. I now have a hard to get Mini backup recoil spring. After reading all over and confirming that you definitely need a buffer on a Mini SMG. Here are some pictures.

I counted my Mini recoils and I made a cut at 91 from a Full Size recoil spring. I also center drill and I will try and flare with a ball punch or ball pin hammer slowly. You can actually do this with both existing washers, cut only one end and do your flare at the buffer side so there is no...

I just cut and old rusted Full Size recoil spring and it is a solid rod not hollow. I guess it needs to be to handle the hard recoil from the bolt speed. Not sure how you would flair this. I would like to know myself.

Only think I can think of is look and count the number of coils on your OEM MINI. Make sure you test after all is done. If you can report back on how it went I would like to do this myself. I have a couple of rusted full size coil springs that I can practice with. I need to get me a flair...
