    Paulin NFA auction today

What I looked at just now included the premiums, but not the 5.5% state sales tax for Maine. When I read the terms and conditions it sounds like that was applied on all transactions. AND, why was the Japanese Army Type 92 so interesting that it sold for over $45K? Richard

    Ownership experience PPSH41

I have a PPsH-41 that I purchased from the son of the USAF navigator that brought it back from Korea and amnesty registered the gun. It is an all matching numbered gun, except the drum. That drum is really beat as the gent I bought it from played with it a lot as a child. I have spent some time...

    FBP M/948 9mm magazines..

Thank you for sharing the results of using the FBP M/948 in your STEN and Sterling. To me the FBP magazines appear to be manufactured to a bit higher standard than ordinary STEN magazines. I never considered changing the STEN MK2 barrel out and using a 9MM suppressor on it. Richard

Remember the old Knob Creek Machine Gun Shoot & Military Shows?

Remember that the "FAL Files" used to host an annual shoot at the NRA Whittington center. The people that started, organized and ran the event for years tried to hand it off to other members, even taking the time to try and do a formal hand off with all the event info. It was the end of it. The...

    Transferable sear

I have not seen an FNC sear come up for sale in a very, very long time. Many years ago a gent had a handful for sale, and I turned a friend of mine onto one. He still has not had it installed into his FNC, but isn't interested in selling it either. Richard

    FBP M/948 9mm magazines..

Thank you for the offer. I was hoping to hear from someone who has already had experience with the FBP M/948 magazines in a STEN gun or a Lanchester. The FBP magazines seem well made and coming from a post WW2 era I would hope they are dimensionally consistent. Richard

    FBP M/948 9mm magazines..

Question, has anyone tried using an FBP M/948 magazine in a STEN? They look about identical, just assembled a bit differently. Richard

Thoughts on future UZI SMG prices

Remember when we were on track to have suppressors removed from the NFA? It was a hearing protection act. The support for that effort was in the US Congress, and there were people from shooter organizations who rallied that support by meeting with key people in Congress. Then the word got around...

    What happened to Geco ammo?

They were bought, I think by Ruag. I think most of the European ammo makers are now owned by one company. Richard

    Safe Deposit Box Storage?

Years ago a fellow Soldier told me he put his STEN in a safe deposit box while he was stationed outside the USA. Only issue was they kept raising the rates on the safe deposit box rental. Not being local meant he had to pay and couldn't move the gun to another place. Richard

Pindad at SHOT Show 2024 (Indonesian FNC imports??)

It is my understanding that the Clinton's put in place a ban on anything rifled out of China. That is why Chinese shotguns are around, but no Chinese made rifles. The VRA was the first hurdle to imports from Russia, now it is the financial sanctions too. President Obama blocked the import of US...

Pindad at SHOT Show 2024 (Indonesian FNC imports??)

This past week I spoke to a friend who works for a large US based firearms importer. He had heard about the Pindad FNC and so went by their booth at the Shot Show. He was told that they had already made an agreement with another US company to import their guns. The other thing he learned, none...

Pindad at SHOT Show 2024 (Indonesian FNC imports??)

The article at this link does a better job of explaining the position ATF imports division is taking. This isn't new, last year I read about an importer of modern semi-auto's that suddenly wasn't able to import the "pistol" they had been bringing into the USA for some time. I don't remember who...

Pindad at SHOT Show 2024 (Indonesian FNC imports??)

The MKE MP5's have a true pistol length barrel and are not in a rifle caliber, so there import is not effected. And yes, the large importer I discussed this with, who got hosed already on a rifle caliber pistol version of what would have been a popular rifle has hired a lobbyist to get the word...

Pindad at SHOT Show 2024 (Indonesian FNC imports??)

I can tell you right now that ATF won't approve the import as a pistol. Put on a stock and try again, it won't be approved because it is "non-sporting" This is a recent change from the ATF imports branch. Another importer we have direct contact with was ready to go with something quite similar...

    Legality question

I have seen a copy of an ATF approval letter for a welded closed UZI folding stock published "somewhere" on a web forum.Hopefully it is something that can be found with a GOOGLE search. Richard
