What's the "real" story on chrome lined UZI SMG barrels?

I have not posted in ages, so maybe this has since been pointed out...Didn't Botach used to sell some as "chrome-lined". Not so?

    Night sights for model B

Re: found it!!! They are in fact listed on the Meprolight web site. Finding a dealer / wholesaler who actually carries them or can even order them is another story. At least, that was my experience. I ended up getting a set of B sights from an auction site, and I sold them to a fellow UT...

Green and Black UZI plastic grip sets

Thanks for the info " PPT Inc." RoverDave makes a good point, that it is likely for you to have more interest if you make a complete 4 piece set with the foregrips. I had also asked about the shorter Mini-UZI foregrips earlier. If you start up production for the full size foregrips, do you think...

Green and Black UZI plastic grip sets

Does he make Mini foregrips too?

    UZI pistol combination 45/9mm

That is, in my opinion, extremely high. I have seen those combos go for $1200 - $1500. They will bring a little more than just a 9mm pistol alone, because of the extra caliber conversion (but not that much more). The guy even tells you it was shot, so it is not "new".

    Registration Card

Interesting. Maybe they stopped even putting them in there. If something is wrong with it that is not due to neglect, I do not think they are picky on date of transfer details. Looks like this:

    Registration Card

It pretty much amounts to a piece of paper that says you have a one year warranty from the transfer date; nothing to fill out. I have no idea if they have ever even asked anyone to prove their transfer date.

How Much Interest In Mini 45 Conversion

Just a thought here, but how much different would the tooling be to make both full size and mini bolts? Considering the drying up of the full size .45, maybe you could make full and mini open bolts and get plenty of interest?

    What's this guys story

Check out the "Find a Transfer Dealer" link at gunbroker: http://www.gunbroker.com/user/DealerNetwork.asp Chances are, there is a transfer dealer closer to you than you may realize. That is all treedawg is talking about. You generally pay him $20-25 to simply receive a gun you have bought off...

How Much Interest In Mini 45 Conversion

I would be interested in the open bolt.

    45 Full Size SMG Bolt

That is interesting. I did not run into the problem of the spring becoming too tight on the Mini, even with the difference in the length. You could shorten a full size SMG spring I suppose. That is all Vector does to make their Mini springs. You would just have to flare out the newly shortened...

    45 Full Size SMG Bolt

Does it still function properly? You may not need to drill it, as long as the bolt still moves in the receiver like it should. Basically, you will just have a recoil spring that is more tightly compressed because of the fact that the recoil spring is pushed back a little further, which may make...

new guy checkin' in and looking for advice/help

Don't they have that obscure law in CT where one cannot own select fire? (ie, you have to buy it full-auto only). If that is the case, you may want to look into how easily you can make a gun into full auto only. With the UZI you could probably get a spare lower and have it modified to work that...

    Uzi Pistol 9mm value?

I will give you $375 :). Personally, I always check out what a few of the buyers who advertise in Shotgun News all the time will pay. This is a set number that you pretty much know you can get. Then you can go from there... For example: http://www.fjvollmer.com/buy.htm They will pay you...

    Bad barrel or trunion?

Ahh, I see. What vegas smg describes is probably what they did to mine then. I was having issues with the gun jamming because of the barrel being out of line, so I sent it back.

    Bad barrel or trunion?

I had a barrel alignment issue on mine, and sent it back to Vector. I was told they were going to "remanufacture" it, which probably meant they rewelded the trunion. My barrel was beat up worse than that one from where the bolt hit it. Was your gun a Vector gun? If you sent it back, I would...
