Yep. I have problems with my rounds dragging through the feed tower causing FTF. However, with the stock upper and a MacJack it functions 100%. The extra recoil solves the feeding issue.

Material was removed from the rear top cover on both sides. The stock material was removed for the top and bottom of the selector side only. I do not have a measurement of how much material was removed.

I'm not sure if my cases eject up or not. I change out the spring and gas bushing. It soften the recoil and I think it change the location where case eject... can't remember. I had to cut out most of the area above the bolt path for the top cover to fit. I hope there is enough room to clear...

I got mine from Brownells or either Midway. Can't remember which one.

I've had good experience with Blazer (wax coatied) and CCI Minimag. I stopped using Blazer because my barrel was getting a lot of lead buildup. Minimags function better and is cleaner. Are you using BDM mags?

As stated above, this setup will take some time and patience to run 100%. Mini mags also worked best for me. The main problem I have is rounds feeding in the tower correctly (i.g. the top round case lip getting caught behind the round below causing FTF). I'm thinking it's the number of winds...

Nice! I have a Zytel mag that I used as a prototype to convert. The feedlips are too wide to fit. I also look into doing a RO mag.

This is the first I've heard of new recoil springs. Need more info. I will also contact Lage about it.

I added an extra buffer to my Max-11DF. One additional buffer was a small, but noticeable ROF increase. It's still controllable and I can get singles off easily.
