Anyone have a photo showing top cover off with bolt installed? I need to know where the bolt level is at whether it's above, flush, or below receiver shell. Mine's above top edge and I'm thinking this should be flush or below? Since my primer stikes are off, Could this be why it's failing to...

I keep trying.... Extractor is going over rim good. Its clunking and not firing . If I place a cartridge into chamber, it'll go off. I'm seeing top of bolt protruding up over receiver shell at maybe a 16th inch. The top cover I had to grind underneath the back latch to get it to fasten and...

More problems, newest solution. I have found that the extractor is not going up and over the rim of the cartridge. I polished it smooth and I hope this helps. Next trial , Monday evening.

I added it sniper doc, no biggie, thanks for the interest.

It's obvious if anyone reads it that problem was light primer strikes and failure to fire ammo.

My post is simply to converse with people who are having the same issues. As my only Uzi build, this has definitely been a learning experience. I feel what I have done to fix the problems I've had might be helpful to others. That's the reason I posted.....

Got a 5-40 UNC coming....I'm assuming the tap will go in from left side through drilled screw hole to tap right side? One can't really tap it from the right side in as that'd reverse the threads, lol.

Correct that this was a weld kit, made into a pistol. Tgat being said, I shoukd be able to go to a 16" inch barrel and working stock, right?

So, one can't put in a 16 inch barrel but keep the welded stock on? I giess it woukd feel better shooting with the full stock though....

I got a deal on a weld kit off of a board, can't remember where. I've got a 16 inch barrel with shroud I'd like to be able to switch out. My barrel goes in really tight though so some work would be needed underneath at weld for hanguard post I think. This is by far the most expensive build I've...

The parts I have has a nut for the sight screw. But old back piece has a threaded right side hole. What threads on a tap do I need to buy? Or can I drill it through as the left side is and the nut secure it?

I put off building one for years. I got one good deal on some parts on gunbroker that saved me some money. All totaled, it's still at 725.00 to build. not cheap but enjoyable and worth it to me.
