Brochures and Flyers

 

 

 


UZI manufacturers and distributors have published many brochures and flyers about their products, leaving behind a wealth of information about the history of the UZI. Here's a look at many of those items. If you have brochures or flyers not shown here, please contact librarian@uzitalk.com.



1970's Interarms Brochure for Law Enforcement

  • Four page brochure on the IMI UZI SMG.
  • Interarms (International Armament Corp.) was importing IMI UZI's for law enforcement sales.

1980 Action Arms Flyer

  • Two page flier announcing the new semi auto UZI.
  • Photo appears to be a full auto SMG, probably taken before the semi auto was in production.

1980 Action Arms Flyer

  • Four page flier announcing the new semi auto UZI.
  • Says that early semi autos came with a certificate signed by Uzi Gal stating that the gun was designed by him and made by the same manufacturers as the original submachine gun.

1980 or 1981 Action Arms Brochure

  • Eight page brochure - probably their first full product catalog.
  • Uses production semi auto UZI in the photos.
  • States that the semi auto modifications were designed by UZI Gal.
  • Includes a full line of Israeli and US manufactured accessories and memorabilia.

1981 Action Arms Flyer for Law Enforcement

  • Two page brochure - probably their first law enforcement flyer.
  • Shows only the UZI SMG and the Model A semi auto UZI carbine.

1981 IMI Mini UZI Brochure

  • One of the first Mini UZI brochures put out by IMI.
  • Shows either an early prototype or the "Model A" Mini UZI, which was never sold in the US.

1982 Action Arms Flyer for Law Enforcement

  • Two page brochure for law enforcement.
  • Shows the UZI SMI, the Model A semi auto UZI carbine and an early version of the Mini UZI.

1983 Action Arms Brochure for Law Enforcement

  • Four page brochure showing law enforcement models.
  • Shows the UZI SMG, the new Mini UZI and semi auto UZI carbine.
  • Same accessories as previous brochures.
  • Mini UZI photos show early style of the Mini UZI - before the Model B that was imported into the US.

1983 IMI Brochure printed in French

  • Four page brochure (all in French) showing a standard export configuration UZI SMG.
  • Stock and lower marked with the diamond shaped tool mark.

1984 Action Arms Brochure

  • Six page brochure showing all semi auto models and accessories.
  • Shows the recently introduced Model B carbine, which shipped in the original Model A box at this time.
  • Introduction of the UZI Pistol. The pistol in the brochure is different than the standard production pistols. It has smooth grip panels, a more rectangular trigger guard and the IMI logo stamped on the receiver.

1984 Action Arms Brochure for Law Enforcement

  • Four page brochure showing law enforcement models.
  • Basically the same as the 1983 law enforcement brochure but the date was taken off and the IMI logo added to the front.

1984 Action Arms hard carrying case

  • One page brochure showing the new plastic carrying case for the UZI. It would later become the standard case that the Model B shipped in.
  • Date uncertain but it's around 1984.

1984 Action Arms releases a .22 conversion kit

  • One page brochure showing the early version of .22 kit, manufactured in the US.
  • Date uncertain but it's around 1984.

1985 Action Arms Brochure for Law Enforcement

  • Eight page brochure showing law enforcement models.
  • Shows the UZI SMG, the Mini UZI and the new Micro UZI
  • Introduction of the .45ACP version of the UZI SMG.
  • Introduction of a new .22 conversion kit manufactured by IMI.
  • Talks about the heavy bolt for the Mini UZI, but it was never commercially available.
  • Micro UZI photos show early style - has a short (Pistol length) barrel and rounded grip panels.

  • 1986 Automatic Weaponry Brochure

    • Four page brochure showing the new full auto UZI manufactured by Group Industries.
    • Automatic Weaponry was the sole distributor for (and financial backer of) Group Industries.
    • Brochure was released after the May 19, 1986 ban on new transferable machine guns.

1987 Action Arms Brochure

  • Sixteen page brochure showing the full UZI product line, Swiss Solothurn pistols and IMI Galil rifles, plus scopes and scope mounts.
  • Introduces the new semi auto Mini UZI carbine.
  • Shows the Mini UZI carbine as being available in .45ACP, but it never was.
  • Shows the Model B UZI Carbine available in .45ACP and .41AE
  • Shows the UZI Pistol available in 9mm and .45ACP.

1988 Norinco Flyer

  • Two page flyer in Chinese and English on the Norinco copy of the Model B semi auto UZI carbine.
  • 1988 date is estimate. Could be one year earlier or later.
  • The original Norinco with the folding stock was never released in the US.

1988 Action Arms Accessory & Memorabilia Catalog

  • Twelve page catalog and price list of all UZI, Galil and SOlothurn accessories.
  • Scope mounts and UZI memorabilia.
  • .41 AE conversion kits for many pistols, including Colt 1911 and Browning Hi-Power

1988 Action Arms Brochure

  • Introduces the Hadar II - sporter version of the Galil.
  • The UZI is clearly not the centerpiece of Action Arms marketing by this point.
